Railway Records Night
Railway Records Night
Every month on the third Saturday The Abbey features bands from Railway Records in the Green Room Pub!

Railway Records is an entirely independent record label based out of Chicago, IL. Born on Chicago's north side, Railway is dedicated to releasing the best in Americana, roots, folk, alternative country, and rock. The goal of Railway is really two-part. First, we work to discover, develop, and promote exceptional new artists in both traditional and non-traditional ways. One way that we do this, is by providing booking and management services for our artists. Next, we reach out to find the listeners who are being under-served by the current state of the record industry. It is our goal to bring these two groups together.
The Grizzly Sweets
The Grizzly Sweets
The Grizzly Sweets formed in 2006 with singer, songwriter and rhythm guitarist Ian Broeker along with drummer Mike Edwards. Lead guitarist Dan Ornduff joined a year later, and bassist Nick Goodman completed the current four piece in early 2011. Drawing inspiration from singer songwriters such as Neil Young and Will Oldham, Ian began writing and performing his songs as a solo artist in 2000. With each addition, The Grizzly Sweets were able to evolve their sound, moving comfortably from soft, acoustic folk to hard driving, Neil Young and Crazy Horse inspired rock and roll.

The Grizzly Sweets have honed their sound at numerous Chicago venues, including The Red Line Tap, Lilly's, The Tonic Room and The Salt Creek Wine Bar, as well as being a featured artist for the Shoreline Sightseeing Cruises in the summer of 2010.
Micki Croisant
Micki Croisant
Micki Croisant & The Good Name Band is an acoustic trio born in the heart of Rogers Park in Chicago. The band is known for Micki's timeless vocals, showcased by her original songs. Prior to The Good Name Band, Keith DaProza (drums) and Davide Pezzini (bass) had experience as a rhythm section, having collaborated on several national tours. When they met up with Micki for the first time, it was like they had been playing together for years... like meeting old friends for the very first time.

Micki Croisant has a unique perspective when it comes to songwriting. Without much formal music education, she picked up the guitar by ear, making for a sometimes unorthodox approach which melds perfectly with her effortless, soul-driven voice.. Add The Good Name Band to the mix and you have a sound nothing short of just plain tasty!

Micki Croisant & The Good Name Band have performed on many of Chicago's major stages, including: The Abbey Pub, Joe's Bar, Underground Wonder Bar, Chicago Recording Company, Evanston SPACE, and Fitzgerald's Nightclub. Additionally, the trio was featured on ABC 7 Chicago News LIVE and continues to play countless local and regional festivals.
Dopple Gang
Dopple Gang
Over a quarter of a score ago several musicians flocked to the stage of the Red Line Tap's legendary open mic and played some entertaining music. They were many... they were known as the B-Teem...

Years later as their membership waxed and waned a small gang formed from that beautiful melody, a Dopple Gang...
Left Turn At Alburquerque
Left Turn At Alburquerque
Left Turn At Albuquerque is a synthesis of 70s folk, 60s pop and classic rock, with lyrics that are not quite Shakespeare but are more than bubblegum (not that there's anything wrong with bubblegum pop, it's a not-so-guilty pleasure). Relying on intricate guitar fingerwork, sultry piano and well-thought-out lyrics, songwriters and co-lead singers Jeff Churchwell and Sarah Scanlon work all sides of the street to bring you music that refuses to sit in a single niche, but rather appeals to a wide variety of tastes and age groups. Bassist Joe Nemec rounds out the core of the band very tastefully, with groove and soul one minute, and rock and punch the next. Left Turn At Albuquerque is a detour well-worth taking.
