Stuart Chaseman is an accomplished singer / songwriter with long standing family ties to the Old Town School of Folk Music. It was there he studied and developed his craft, and still occasionally teaches and performs. From stage to studio, his many talents have made him one of the most sought after musicians in Chicago, performing with a wide variety of local and national acts including Peter Himmelman and Train. His big voice is what will initially grab your attention, but it’s his gritty yet sensitive lyrics that will keep you coming back.
In the nineties, Stuart was a founding member and the primary songwriter of the rootsy rock band, The Tree Huggers. They developed a strong cult-like following from their marathon shows, as well as the requisite Springsteen comparisons. However, due to those all too common creative differences, the band dissolved but not before leaving an indelible mark on Chicago audiences. After focusing his attentions away from the music scene for a few years, playing only the occasional benefit show (mostly for progressive political causes), Chaseman inked a deal with the startup record company, Gonzo Music. Next Exit Brigadoon, his long-awaited solo CD, is due to be released in 2009.

Bitterson

BITTERSON is two things: band and attitude. Classic and modern, Bitterson's sound is rock's raw emotion chiseled out of yester-year's boy changing to a modern-day man. Long time songwriter and guitarist, Phillip Amerson came up with the name while living in Paris, France. Translating his last name's first four letters "Amer", meaning "bitter" in French, and replacing that in his last name, "BITTERSON" was born. The name captures the tone and emotion of each song with their telling of love lost, rejection, overcoming odds and maturing.
Live, the band has infectious energy and draws the crowd into each song's ride. Bitterson is from Chicago, IL and is made up of Phillip Amerson (guitars/vocals), Matthew Severing (drums), Andrew Hintz (bass), and Marcus Smith (keys/organ).
