Terrapin Flyer Terrapin Flyer is a Grateful Dead inspired band from Chicago who has toured with Vince Welnick, Melvin Seals, Tom Constanten and Bob Bralove. Terrapin Flyer began in 1999 as the house band for the Sunday Grateful Dead Jam at the Boulevard Cafe. Through the many musical associations developed there and the many that have continued since then, the Jam concept has overridingly become the staple of the band’s history and influence. The band draws from the vibrant Chicago music scene utilizing band members from a variety of local bands. Since 1973, The Abbey has been Chicago’s home for live music, good food and great times. The Abbey has live music most nights, featuring local, regional and national acts from indie rock to traditional Irish music. The Abbey serves dinner nightly and brunch on Saturday and Sunday featuring Irish and American food. Make a dinner reservation before any show and get preferred VIP seating! Watch all major sporting events on our 15-foot projector and on 14 flat screens. We feature live international sports telecasts (rugby, soccer, Gaelic) as well as all major American sporting events.
